Adam Monsterosity Interview

Image
Well, I'm over in Japan to get some insight into 'Aussie Dude' (as he calls himself) Adam and his work.  I just want to thank Adam for giving me some of his valuable time to participate in my creative interviews!!OK Adam it's over to you now:-
Why do you do what you do?
A) Im not good at doing as im told. B) I didn’t know there was a choice! When I was about 6 or 7 I was asked at school what I wanted to do when I grew up…. I said “I just wanna make cool shit!” Well ok maybe they weren’t my exact words but I like to think that if I had the vocabulary I would have used it. Anyway the meaning is the same, I like to make stuff… just cos.
Do you work in silence or music blasting or ...?
Sometimes I listen to music or the radio and sometimes I work in silence, but most often I listen to audio books, novels (horror/suspense) or currently I’m listening to lots and lots of small business and marketing e-book audios.
What's your routine before you create ?
Procrastinate! It…

Jo Cheung Interview

And now it's Jo's turn for me to introduce you to a very creative and inspirational young lady. Welcome to Red Road, Jo - and a great big thank you for taking the time to do this for me as I know you have a lot of projects on the go. So here's the questions:-

Describe yourself in five words ...
Daydreamer, coffee addict, happy, quirky, Northerner.
Where does your inspiration come from

Going to different places around London and definitely listening to a variety of music keeps me going when I'm working. My ideas come from experiences, snippets of conversations, cafes, friends, photos, found objects........generally life is full of moments which continue to enrich my work.

In your portfolio what are you most happy with

I'm so pleased with an ongoing series called Landscapes and Dreams. It's about a dream like and fantasy world inspired by my childhood trips to Hong Kong. Lots of stars, shapes and colours floating around the sky and hills as a backdrop to my illustr…

New illustration I've drawn for my 'all things scottish' range. Slight problem here as there doesn't seem to be anything healthy in it yet ... hmmmm. what does that say about Scotland then? But I love it!!

Kirsten Miller Interview (aka Quernus Crafts)

Image
Every so often I'd like to introduce you to some very creative and inspirational people. So welcome Kirsten Miller of Quernus Crafts based in the UK. A great big thank you to Kirsten for taking the time to do this for me as she's very very busy getting ready for the Christmas season!
Why do you do what you do Kirsten?

When I left my 15 year career as a lawyer in summer 2009, I really didn’t have a clue what I was going to do next. I had promised myself a six month mini-retirement to get clear on the next steps, I began to play around with polymer clay, something I had done on and off for years, but never in a serious way. But once I had the time, energy and space to just ‘be’, all these wee creatures started appearing - looks like they were just waiting for the opportunity to be made! Now, I can’t imagine not doing what I do – it’s so much fun to see which wee characters are going to appear next!

I am also passionate about promoting and supporting the handmade movement. There i…

First Entry

Hello there! I've been working on my new logo for far too long and needed to get my blog up and running and archive my old ones. I started working on them about a year ago with a plan to becoming creative again and it's been very successful. So it's time to start afresh. I look forward to meeting you!

My other blogs are : we3 : a life lighter : white black red

I will continue to run them for a wee while but my intention is to direct everything to this blog and to Ziggy and Friends.
