Textile Central : New Shop on society6
A lovely piece written about Textile Central!
The craft industry is enjoying a boom thanks to the popularity of e-commerce websites such as Society6, UK based Folksy and USA based Etsy, who enjoy millions of users and revenue each year. A Scotland-based designer, Jay Anderson, announces the opening of her new online shop, Textile Central.
Textile Central is a shop consisting of 100% handmade home accessories, mugs, stationery, phone/laptop skins, and other goods.
Her new Textile Central portfolio lives by the motto “Made by hand, not machine,” for this new range of home accessories she creates all of her designs from “scratch,” designing them on paper with pen, pencils and paint, until the final finish which then requires technology.
A graduate of Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art, Dundee, Jay has designed printed textiles for many years, and takes pride in creating a variety of patterns and designs that are whimsical, eye-catching, and eclectic. “I'm delighted to share my work with the world. I believe my products can deliver a modern style to any house, and make it feel like home,” she explains.
The full range of products available were designed to fit in any room, from living room to nursery, and range in price from £6.95 to just over £75. Jay wanted to ensure Textile Central could fulfill any budget, and offers her art work in multiple sizes. Textile Central is part of a proud tradition with a modern twist.
Textile and pattern creation dates back thousands of years, back to the Stone Ages. Jay's wide range of creations feature bold colours to florals to geometric designs that are easy on the eyes and the wallet. “My designs are very personal and come directly from things I observe in the world. I also love to play with colour and lines to create something that's simple yet beautiful,”
Textile Central's products are available via worldwide shipping and the shop may be accessed at http://society6.com/textilecentral.
