Suddenly something becomes really popular like my Paris poster on zazzle and I don't know why. It's lovely to see people wanting to buy it and I just wonder if it's been highlighted somewhere. Must see if I can find out.

NEW GEOMETRIC PATTERN

A much calmer geometric creation in soft muted colours.  It's simply called 'geometric squares' and is the last in the series heading to 'zazzle'

Paris Shopping Trip Pattern

Following a shopping trip and break to Paris I took the drawings I'd been working on in my sketchbook - from designer shoes and bags to French cars from passport to sunglasses and created this fun kitsch conversational pattern.  Vive La Paris!  Another version made its way to Society6 in all manor of accessories and prints.

This is moving in front of me!  Number four of my new geometric range and requiring me to take 2 tablets before I go giddy LOL!  Understandably called 'optical dots' and will be making its presence noted in 'zazzle' ASAP.

My thought turned to summer when I was working on this alluring mermaid with the 'come hither' look.  Just wishing our summer here in Scotland would last longer than 2 days!  I've created this homage to old school tattoos for men and women so you can feel in a summer mood.  You can also choose your own t-shirt colour.

So the travels continue and from Iban culture and its people to the world of bees with this new developing idea I'm toying with.  Their wings are so delicate and bodies so strong ..... wonderful.  I wanted a sharp contrast to the natural elements of the bees and went for striking orange and a triangle.  Perhaps I'll make the triangles solid .....  you'll be able to see if you pop to society6

New work led to new research and this is just one of the illustrations I developed for a poster and throw pillow.  I eventually changed the Iban warrior and included a dancer on this tribal pattern.  Really interesting project to work on.  Let me know if you prefer this version or the one on zazzle.

OLD SCHOOL TATTOOS ART COMMISSION

Happy New Year everyone, I have been neglecting my blog for quite some time so am about to rectify that by starting with my very last commission of 2015.  And suddenly I had another skull artwork to create just after completing my very first one - what a coincidence!  Her's the artwork before it went into it's frame - I enjoyed working with this as I've been thinking about working three dimensionally for a wee while now.  The client wanted the skull raised off the background.  And now on to 2016 wishing you all health, wealth and happiness and lots of creativity!!

Day Of The Dead Commission

Following on from a lovely commission of a sugar skull for the 'Day of the Dead' I decided to have some fun with designing a pattern and skull for zazzle and here's the end result.  I found out that the Day of the Dead or Día de Muertos is a Mexican holiday observed throughout Mexico and around the world in other cultures. The holiday focuses on gatherings of family and friends to pray for and remember friends and family members who have died.

Having fun finding work that I created years ago and had forgotten about.  A bit of procrastination really as I've so many ideas in my head and need to start a 'to do' list.  My wee fat kilted birds against a naive hearts and flowers pattern circa 2009 OMG!!!!  Will be putting the hare into zazzle on t-shirts I think ........
